About Better JFK Airport
Better JFK Airport tracks flights, terminals, security, and the practical steps people need before flying through New York JFK. One promise: JFK, without the guesswork.
What this site does
JFK has five separate terminals connected only by the AirTrain, and roughly a quarter of its flights run late. This site exists to answer the questions that come up in that reality, fast: which terminal is my airline, is my flight on time (live departures and arrivals), and what do I need to do before I get there. Every page is built to be read on a phone, in a hurry.
Who runs it
Better JFK Airport is built and maintained by Lawrence Hitches, a digital and search professional. It is an independent project: not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, any airline, or any government agency.
Where the data comes from
- Live flight data (boards, gates, status, aircraft) is licensed from AeroDataBox, an aviation data provider. It refreshes on short cycles and is cached briefly on our servers.
- Delay and airspace conditions reference the FAA's National Airspace System status.
- Terminal and airline assignments are maintained by hand from official airport and airline sources, and cross-checked against the live feed. Assignments shift during the New Terminal One construction; the live boards are always the tiebreaker.
Flight data can lag or contain errors. Always confirm critical details (departure time, terminal, gate) with your airline before traveling. This site is a guide, not an official source.
How it makes money
Right now, it does not. The plan is quiet affiliate links for genuinely useful services (parking, lounges, hotels) clearly placed and never mixed into informational pages. No display ads, no sponsored content, no selling your data.
